During half term the church held a well attended Holiday Club. Competition was fierce but good natured in the Olympic events. There was craft work, singing, and enthusiastic cheering. Roll on next year! |

Saturday, March 1st, saw the long-awaited assault on the highest mountain in Wales. However, with the weather forecast predicting 40-50 mph winds and a wind chill factor of -6 degrees on Snowdon, discretion was the better part of valour and so the hardy band from St John’s walked along the Miners’ track before joining the Pyg track and heading back to base. |

On May 4th Paul and Grace Robinson together with their 20 month old daughter, Isobel, visited St John’s. In July Paul and Grace are leaving for Cambodia to serve as missionaries. Paul is an architect and Grace an English teacher (TEFL secondary). They are link missionaries with St John’s and shared about themselves and their calling in the morning services. They asked for prayer for justice, and freedom from oppression, the state of the economy, and the vision many churches in Cambodia have. If you would like to receive news from Paul and Grace, contact them at: paulgracerobinson@gmail.com |

Gwen Champion, a member of St John’s, has been sponsoring a school in a remote area of Kwa Zulu Natal for the past six years. Mpophomo Combined School has 230 pupils, many of whom walk between 10 and 12 miles each day to receive an education. |

She has visited the school several times over the past five years and always gets a warm welcome. The children are very loveable. She plans to return again later in the year to teach and help out in any way she can. Each year, with the help of family and friends, she sends out a shipment of educational materials (books, stationery, etc.) to the school. One year she took some football shirts, which were a great success. Another time some yellow T-shirts. |
