Under 25’s Worker Needed for St. John's Church |
We are incredibly grateful to the Diocese for granting us £8,000 per year for 3 years, to the Wrexham Education Trust Fund for £6,000 per year, and to the St. Teilo's Trust for £1,600 towards the cost of employing an under 25’s worker. |
The total cost of the project is £25,000 per year for 3 years, and so we still need to secure £9,400 per year. Please pray that God would provide this for us. |
Please also pray for God’s guidance to the right person for this important job. |

In the last magazine I wrote about Mission Wrexham; one of the church groups in town in which we participate. This month just a few words about CYTUN. |
CYTUN or ‘Churches Together in Wales’ was set up in 1990 to foster the work of the Church in our land. Member churches include the Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Quaker and some Baptist churches. |
Nationally CYTUN represents the Churches to the Welsh Assembly and promotes Church concerns. Internationally Wrexham CYTUN is made up of a wide variety of local churches and is currently chaired by Phil Carey from St Mark’s. Each member church pays £30 subscription and sends two representatives to the six or so meetings each year. Traditionally CYTUN organises several joint services each year and facilitates an annual pulpit swap to help, organises the monthly hunger lunches in aid of Christian Aid, and helps organise various events such as the Good Friday act of witness. As the ‘official’ church grouping in town, CYTUN has an input into Council consultations and represents the churches at civic events. |
Excitingly CYTUN has just launched a mission fund, to which member churches can contribute and which CYTUN will use to support mission work in the town. Rev. Gary Owen |
